Loft in a former aircraft factory in Hackney, U. K.

The De Havilland Building is a 1930s concrete frame factory building that was used to manufacture aircraft parts. It was designed by Sir Owen Williams, one of Britain’s foremost architects of the period. In 1998/99 the building was extended and converted into 44 large live/work studios. The sensitive restoration has ensured that the building remains an outstanding example of industrial Art Deco architecture.
